The Many Varying Types Of Flooring

August 30, 2010

Choosing new floors for a home or finding a home with the right floors can be a hard task. Hardwood floors are always great but the same goes for tile and stone flooring. All of these stones call for different kinds of care and settings but are all very delicate and sophisticated looking. Tampa floor cleaning and Tampa stone cleaning can help you uphold all of your great flooring decisions. The choice can become increasingly difficult depending on the home and the homeowner but there are some ways to limit it down. If you have kids, an old home or a new home, economic reasons, or any other accounting variable there may be some setbacks or forward moves based on what your conditions are.

Hardwood flooring has forever been the most common type of flooring. It is nice looking and conventional for any type of home, new or old. Hardwood comes in plenty of different colors and textures to choose from, from dark cherry wood to radiant colored sandalwood. Hardwood can coordinate with any room especially in the kitchen and in restrooms. If you do not already have hardwood floors you could install them in your home all over or in singular rooms, either way they work just fine. Hardwood floors are great because they are glossy and shiny and fun to walk on. The only downside to hardwood flooring is that if you live in a colder area they become very decreased in temperature very easily and that can be uncomfortable on one’s feet.

Another very common type of floor covering is tile. There are many different types of tiles in hundreds of different colors and printed designs to pick from. There is flooring with and with no grout. There is tile that has a crackled appearance and even tile that has faked textured prints to make the floor seem even more real. Tile is very common in bathrooms and kitchens and it has a very easy look to it. There is glossy tile or more natural looking tile. The glossy polished tile is what you often times see in restaurants. This looks very clean and it is very easy to keep clean as well. The only issue with tile is the grout in between each piece. This can be a pain to clean but a professional cleaner will get it right out.

The next most general type of floor covering is carpeting. Not all homes have carpeting but it is very typical in most modernly built homes. Carpets have hundreds of different styles to pick from and thousands of colors and patterns as well. Carpeting is very nice to have if you live in a cooler area because it helps during the winter months when the floors and walls do not retain a lot of heat. Some carpets are really rough on your feet, but some are incredibly spongy and good feeling on your feet.

Just like any other upgrade in your house flooring can be difficult to decide on as well, but the decision can be made simple if you can narrow it down to exactly what you are wanting.
