Shower curtains are a simple requirement among many homes in this modern time so it is usual that everyone owns one in every bathroom with a shower. A Fabric Shower Curtain is usually very general on most Shower Curtain Rods but as of late everything has moved to plastic. The plastic is new, cleaner, and more clean but it stays away from the traditional Victorian look of a bathroom. Fabric shower curtains commonly come in an assortment of varying types of light fabric. These fabrics are usually used in light colors such as light blues and greens to highlight the soft and relaxing colors of a bathroom. These fabrics should also add accent to the rest of the room according to the colors of the wall.
These fabrics can be very easily found at any of your fabric stores or any craft store. Almost every color is always available and if you happen to own any sort of sewing machine it can be very easy to throw together certain fabric projects just like these. First, you would need to choose a shade that would fit nicely with your bathroom walls or accents. Then you would need to pick the certain pattern or texture that goes nicely with your towels and linens. Texture is vital because patterns go together as well as color.
The one thing that you will need once you have chosen a pattern and color is a sewing machine and thread as well as a pattern if you have not already created your own. Make sure that you also have plenty of fabric to use so that when you begin sewing you do not run out and have to go get more. Your sewing machine will make it a lot easier than having to sew by hand so having one to use is a big help. Your pattern will be put in a curtain shaped rectangle and then may also have a pattern for tie backs. Tie backs are just small rectangular strings used to tie back the curtain so that it provides that half and half cut curtain look.
Once your curtains are created it is a good plan to purchase some nice looking curtain rods that match any silver or other colored hardware in your bathroom. Then you can hang them up in your bathroom for your relatives and guests to admire. Your curtains should be arranged so that light can come in. These types of curtains are solely meant for decorative purposes only.
Purchasing curtains for a bathroom is fine but making them as a project for yourself or for you and your children is a wonderful way to get the job done and bond with your family as well. Just like any other project, making curtains can be very rewarding and they help to create a warm and inviting atmosphere throughout your home for everyone to enjoy. Curtains are meant to be colorful but also beautiful works of art so remember that curtains are still for a nice show throughout your home.
