Reading signs and symbols is not something strange. Inspect your routine life, and you’ll find many of them. On a wet floor, you’ll see a wet floor sign. To indicate luxury homes for sale, you’ll see a for-sale sign on a luxury home. To inform other drivers that a baby is sitting in the car, you’ll see a baby on board sticker on the car… There are just too many of them! And, interpreting them is definitely not a difficult task for you. However, when you consider reading signs on the face of an individual, not many people might know how to read them. To many, reading body language is the task of a psychologist, and a common man might not be capable of doing it. However, this might not be totally true.

They say practice makes perfect. The cliché completely applies here. The science of interpreting body language does hold musch of deepness in it, and you are not going to excel at it overnight. The foundation law of psychology is that each mind is different and therefore every individual is different. Thus, you will require practice to be a skilled person at reading it. Yet, there are some signs that are too obvious for everyone to comprehend. For instance, your hands tell much about what you have in your mind. If someone is sitting/standing with a position that conceals his hands, it means that he is hiding something from you.

Firstly, let’s examine the ‘crossed arm’ position. Crossed arms might be read in several ways. If you are talking and the person listening to you has his arms crossed, it says that you still have a long way to go before you could get him agreed on what you are saying. This position might mean that the person disagrees with you, or he might be hiding something from you. On many occasions, it will also mean egotism and defensiveness.

If an individual has his arms crossed while he is talking, it may mean that he is somewhat edgy or uncertain about what he might be saying at that very moment. This posture might also mean that he is hiding something, or he might be lying. In general, a crossed arm position means that a person is attempting to protect himself, or is scared from the within. Now, look at the ‘hand-in-pocket’ position, it depicts that a person is uncomfortable in the environment around. When a person holds this position, it means being edgy or bored in the ambiance. Hands in pockets are a sign of hiding, and this is the reason why it may also be thought of as disloyal stance. In general, it is an indication of the lack of poise in a person.

Reading body language does not finish here. Your eyes, legs, feet, fingers, arms and eyebrows, all have different things to tell about you. Every gesticulate might show different behaviors which can be comprehended in different ways. Thus, the science of interpreting body language is a deep fact which gets more amusing as it gets deeper.
