When it comes to lighting the home, there are many forms of illumination that will fit right in to the décor and style that is right up to fashion. rustic chandelier have their own unique charm when the house is a little rural, but some houses demand a more contemporary chandelier to set off the décor.
For the country style home, these hanging lights will really show off the décor. The ubiquitous elk antlers sometimes are used to highlight the fact that the homeowner is all about the countryside and all things that go with that lifestyle. This tends to be a much more casual approach to decoration, but this does not necessarily mean that the style is cheap to install. Homes that are full of animal skins, well made furniture and a rural setting will always be popular.
Hanging lights can have all forms of decorations on them including elk and bear figures, and they really do look good in the center of the room. Hand forged wrought iron twisted into floral shapes are ideal for the more feminine touch, but some like the Wild West scenes that sometimes decorate these fittings.
Teepees, with all the attendant figures, or perhaps a covered wagon with horses all make for great conversation pieces, as well as providing the relevant ambiance for a room.
For the more modern home, there are hanging lights in a more stylish and upbeat style. Wrought iron is still considered to be in vogue with most households, but add some fine glass shades and it becomes something completely different. Delicate filigree designs also look more feminine so it really is up to the homeowner what they would prefer to live with.
The good thing about hanging lights is that the diversity of styles will suit every home. Strong bold wooden structures not only look a little medieval, they also add that air of masculinity to a study for example. Lights that look like huge cartwheels hung from chains also give the same kind of look and if they are strung over a solid oak table, the look can be superb.
On the other end of the scale are the delicate modern hanging lights with six or more shades in clear or etched glass. These look best when hung over a fine wooden dining room table and will never be out of date.
Of course, lighting can make a room look wonderful. Having something heavy and masculine in a delicate looking room will surely not fit the mood at all. Similarly, having the delicate and pretty hanging light in a room full of hunting trophies will also not fit in with the décor at all.
It is important that the style of the room or house is taken into consideration when wondering what effects to have. Choose the theme and then choose the lighting that will bring out the best in the room. If in doubt, try looking in some design magazines to find out what is in vogue.
