A person will have many choices available when they are choosing lodge style bedding. The popularity of this bedding has grown in recent years as more people have sought to reduce utility bills. However, when selecting lodge style bedding it is important to evaluate where it will be used.
This type of bedding has been used traditionally by individuals who are sleeping in areas without heat. A person in a cabin may not have heat for most of the night when they sleep. They require a method of staying warm and insulated against the chill air as the cabin gets colder.
The lodge style bedding usually consists of a warm blanket or coverlet, warm pillowcases, and warm sheets. The fabrics of the bedding are usually in some type of flannel or thermal. The blanket or coverlet is usually a heavy wool or thermal material. When the entire set is used, it keeps a body as insulated as a sleeping bag will.

Or, they may wish to stay with a traditional geometric pattern on their bedding. In some cases, the bedding will be a solid fabric that has a contrasting pattern embedded on it.
Two types of people purchase lodge style bedding. One type of person is purchasing the bedding for style. This bedding is selected for the type of fabric that it is made from, the look of the bedding in the room where it is going to be used, and the kind of coverlet that is going on the bed. In most cases a person choosing for style will select a quilted fabric that contains the designs of the lodge style bedding but would not be used in a rustic setting.
The person purchasing this bedding for function will look for warmth, functionality, stain resistance, and the ability to manipulate the heavy blanket or cover. People selecting the bedding for function often do not look at the design or style until they have found the warmth that they need.
In a fashion setting, the design of the bedding is focused toward style. An individual would not need the warmth that lodge style bedding provides in a room that has a heater. The bedding is designed to keep a person very warm. Therefore the purpose of the bedding is one of fashion and style.
Using cabin bedding for fashion is available in many colors and designs. An individual can find any type of design, pattern, or materials that will reflect the “look” of the bedding quilts.
