Cincinnati, Ohio is located in southern Ohio dorectly on the Ohio River and quite near to the Kentucky and Indiana borders. That is often why this area is called the tri-state area with the 3 states in close proximity to one another. The cost of living in this city is quite affordable and much lower than a lot of other metropolitan locations in the country. There are several neighborhoods within the city limits in addition as just outside downtown Cincinnati that offer various kinds of housing like Cincinnati apartments or Cincinnati apartment rentals, condos and town homes, and rental homes. This article explore these different leasing choices for people to rent.

If you are a recent college graduate and would like to live near your new employment in downtown Cincinnati there are many different apartment options. If you don’t mind being in a tall building, then there are some that are located looking over downtown as well as the Ohio River that may be of interest for you. There is not a large number of residential properties located right downtown but many apartment buildings in a very short drive.

The Newport, Kentucky area has been reinventing itself over the past decade and trying to improve itself to attract more residents and businesses to want to go there. Only 20 years ago, this area was riddled with crime and quite rundown but now this ideal location directly on the river looking back at the Cincinnati skyline has improved with a great riverfront area of restaurants and shops and a state of the art aquarium also. Now rehabbed residential properties, Particularly some beautiful condos and town homes are located here and some of them are built in former warehouse style buildings that offer some unique character to the properties.

If you prefer to rent a house because you have kids or you wish to live with several roommates, then consider looking in the quaint and trendy neighborhood of Mount Adams. This is located on the highest hill in Cincinnati overlooking the skyline, the river and the entire metropolitan area. The winding, hilly roads are much like a small scaled San Francisco with vibrant painted, Victorian style homes with almost as many restaurants and bars as homes. To get a rental home in Mount Adams, the house could be smaller and cost more because of the great location. This is the top location to be for the 20 something crowd.

One area that has gone downhill and continually is trying to clean up its image is the part of downtown known as Over-The Rhine. Some people are purchasing places and fixing them up to attract new renters that live in a great building that is updated but has historical details to it for a lot less money. It will probably be some years for this to become successfully though. Over-the Rhine has the great year round Findley Market and some wonderful art venues but needs to lower the crime in the area too.
