The Image of a Perfect Bedroom
January 26, 2010
You can devote a lot of time in your bedroom. A bedroom should feel tranquil and make you want to unwind. If finances are tight then save the bedroom furniture till last.
Consider the amount of room you have. Do not force in lots of furniture and gear like TV’s. The main point of the room should be the bed. This should always be paramount with any other pieces being dull next to it. Splurge on a king sized in preference to of double bed. Find a mattress that is comfortable for you. What is appropriate for someone else isn’t necessarily appropriate for you. Your body needs support of certain rigidity.
Make sure any table or stand adjoinging to the bed is at a agreeable height so you are not over reaching. Bedside tables are there for a book, clock or a drink so don’t go over the top on the size. Work furniture should be left out of of the bedroom as this is not helpful to restful sleep.
Adjustable lighting alleviates that irratating problem of bright light if you need to get up during the night. It also helps create a relaxing mood while you are laying in bed on an evening. Make sure there is a plethora of room around the bed. Floundering over furniture is the least thing you want to be doing. If you have the space, put clothes in a spare room, leaving more room in your bedroom. If you can’t do this, position decent wall to wall closets. Avoid overloading the room with furniture otherwise it will look like a storage block. To keep out light on those early morning sunrises, purchase some good quality curtains and/or blackout blinds. That is all you need to do. Leave out extra units, chairs, storage, they are just not required. A TV should be taken out of the room as well. Keep wall paintings uncluttered. Keep surfaces clutter free as well, this helps with relaxation. Utilize other rooms for those pictures, vases and ornaments. Luxurious bedding and memory foam pills gives a hint of opulence to your bed.
